Brief Biography

Here is some brief background information about me as a researcher and teacher:

Daniel L. Segal is the Kraemer Family Professor of Aging Studies and Professor of Psychology at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. He joined the faculty at UCCS in 1995 and helped to design and build the PhD program in Clinical Psychology, which began in 2002. Dr. Segal is a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and of the American Psychological Association (Divisions 12 and 20). He is Editor-in-Chief of the Clinical Case Studies journal, and he serves on the editorial board of three other journals (Aging & Mental Health; Assessment; and International Journal of Aging and Human Development). He has published over 200 peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and he has co-authored or edited 8 professional books. He received the Outstanding Teacher award from the UCCS College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences in 2002 and from the UCCS Campus in 2006. He received the Outstanding Researcher award for the UCCS College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences in 2010. He received the UCCS Chancellor's Award in 2014. Finally, he was inducted into the UCCS Million Dollar Club in 2024.
